Russian Ballistic Missile Strikes Kill Child in Kyiv, Hit Odesa and Dnipro

Внаслідок ракетних ударів постраждали мирні жителі в Україні, зокрема дитина в Києві.

Ukrainian Cities Targeted in Overnight Assault

In the early hours of April 16, Russian occupying forces launched missile attacks against several Ukrainian cities, including Odesa, Kyiv, and Dnipro. These strikes resulted in civilian casualties, injuries, and significant damage to infrastructure.

Impact and Casualties

  • In Odesa, preliminary reports indicate five people were injured. The blast wave shattered windows of buildings in the Primorskyi district.

  • Russian terrorists fired ballistic missiles at Kyiv, killing a 12-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman. Ten residents of the capital were wounded, with six requiring hospitalization.

  • Dnipro was also targeted by Russian occupation troops, who struck residential areas. The attack sparked fires at multiple locations across the city. Preliminary information suggests the enemy used ballistic missiles against Dnipro. The Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kyiv were also hit, underscoring the severity of the regional assault.

These missile strikes represent a continuation of Russia's aggressive strategy aimed at destabilizing Ukraine. The use of ballistic missiles, which are difficult to intercept, marks a severe escalation against urban centers. The situation in the country remains tense, as the bombardments deliberately seek to harm civilians and critical infrastructure. Such attacks further highlight the crucial need for sustained international support for Ukraine in its defense against this aggression.

The ongoing missile assaults on Ukrainian cities are not isolated incidents, as evidenced by similar attacks reported recently. In particular, recent strikes across multiple regions have resulted in significant destruction and loss of life, highlighting the urgent need for international attention and response to the escalating violence in Ukraine.
