Внаслідок удара по цивільним судам з пшеницею постраждала одна особа, а портові споруди зазнали ушкоджень.

Attack on civilian vessels in the Odesa region

The Russian army attacked two civilian vessels, Emmakris III and Captain Karam, which were entering the port to load wheat. The attack occurred on December 30, resulting in one person injured and damage to port and industrial infrastructure in the Odesa region.

According to reports, empty oil storage tanks were also damaged as a result of the attack. The Command of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the situation, stating that

"targeted strikes on civilian objects constitute a deliberate war crime"
.

Impact of the attack on the region

Oleg Kiper also confirmed that, despite the active operation of air defense forces, damage to industrial and port infrastructure was recorded due to this attack. This incident underscores the escalation of tensions in the region and the impact of military actions on the civilian sector.

The attack on civilian vessels and infrastructure indicates an escalation of the conflict and a negative impact on food security, as Ukraine is one of the leading grain exporters. It also jeopardizes the safety of maritime routes and increases risks for civilian trade in the region, which can have serious consequences for the economy and the population, especially in the context of the ongoing war.
