Russian Forces Target Dnipropetrovsk Region in Over 30 Strikes, Causing Civilian Harm

Удар Російських військ по Дніпропетровщині: понад 30 атак, що завдали шкоди цивільному населенню.

Russian Military Strikes on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian military forces targeted three districts within Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, employing drones and artillery in attacks that damaged residential buildings, infrastructure, and commercial enterprises. These assaults resulted in injuries to two men, aged 23 and 55. In total, occupying forces launched more than 30 strikes against the Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, and Synelnykove districts. The Dnipropetrovsk region, a key industrial and population center, has been a frequent target since the war's outset.

District-Specific Attack Details

In the Kryvyi Rih district, strikes hit the Zelenodolsk, Karpivka, and Apostolove communities. The shelling there ignited a fire in a five-story building and damaged three other apartment blocks. The Nikopol district came under fire in the cities of Nikopol and Marhanets, as well as the Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovske communities, where enterprises, multi-story and private houses, and shops were damaged. Within the Synelnykove district, the Dubovyky and Ukrainske communities were attacked, with one private house sustaining damage.

In a separate, massive overnight assault on Ukraine leading into March 31, Russian forces deployed 289 attack drones, including models like Shahed, Gerbera, and Itlamas. As of 08:00 on March 31, Ukrainian air defense units had shot down or neutralized 267 of these hostile UAVs. Concurrently with these drone attacks, the enemy also shelled the city of Poltava, damaging a multi-story residential building where the top-floor ceiling collapsed. This attack wounded four people, including two children, and killed one person.

These events underscore the ongoing intensity of combat operations in eastern Ukraine, particularly in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, where Russian forces are deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure alongside military objectives. Attacks on residential areas and commercial facilities threaten to severely worsen the humanitarian situation in communities already bearing the conflict's brunt. Meanwhile, the effective performance of Ukrainian air defense highlights the country's continued efforts to protect its territory from such assaults.

The recent strikes in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast are part of a broader pattern of aggressive assaults by Russian forces. In a related event, Ukraine successfully intercepted a staggering number of drones during a massive offensive, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to cultural heritage sites.
