Strikes on Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure
On January 15, Russian military forces launched attacks against Ukraine's energy infrastructure, resulting in power outages for consumers in the Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions, as well as in the capital city of Kyiv and the surrounding Kyiv region. The most severe situation is being observed in the capital and its outskirts, where network restrictions are in effect. These strikes are part of a wider campaign that has repeatedly targeted Ukraine's power grid since the full-scale invasion began.
Separately, seven settlements in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions were left without power due to severe weather conditions. As of 9:30 AM on January 14, electricity consumption across Ukraine was 4.5% lower than at the same time the previous day. However, the daily peak consumption on January 14 was 3.2% higher than on the preceding day, January 13.

Emergency repair crews are continuing their work to restore electricity to consumers affected by the attacks. The situation remains serious, with energy sector workers striving to mitigate the damage.
