On the night of August 26 to 27, the Russian Federation carried out yet another massive terrorist attack on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. The occupiers attacked energy and gas transportation system facilities with drones in six regions of Ukraine, including Sumy, Poltava, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia. This was reported by 'Hlavkom', citing the Ministry of Energy.
It is noted that around one o'clock in the morning, as a result of the drone strike, equipment at one of the key substations in Sumy was damaged, leaving a significant part of the city and industrial consumers without electricity. In Poltava, the enemy deliberately attacked gas transport infrastructure facilities, causing significant damage.
“We consider the Russian attacks as a continuation of the intentional policy of the Russian Federation to destroy Ukraine's civilian infrastructure ahead of the heating season. This is yet another act of energy terrorism aimed at the peaceful population,” the statement said.
It is recalled that on the night of August 27, Russian troops carried out a massive drone attack on Sumy. As a result of the strike, infrastructure facilities were damaged. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.
As reported, at night the enemy massively attacked Poltava. As a result of shelling, an energy sector enterprise was affected.
Large-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine
It is worth noting that the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has been ongoing for 1281 days. Yesterday, the enemy carried out two missile and 64 aviation strikes, used two missiles, and dropped 109 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it conducted 4,625 shellings, including 21 from multiple launch rocket systems, and involved 3,891 kamikaze drones for striking. The aggressor carried out air strikes, particularly on the areas of the settlements of Stara Huta in the Sumy region; Bilohir'ya and Preobrazhenka in the Zaporizhia region; and Antonivka in the Kherson region.
As a result of the massive terrorist attacks, Ukraine's civilian infrastructure has suffered serious damage, which may significantly complicate the situation with energy and gas supplies in several regions. These attacks indicate the large-scale aggression of Russia against Ukraine, which threatens the safety and well-being of the peaceful population.
