Drone Strikes Hit Kharkiv, Damaging School and Targeting Ambulance

Атаки безпілотників завдали шкоди освітньому закладу в Харкові і пошкодили автомобіль швидкої допомоги.

Kharkiv Under Attack

Russian forces launched a drone attack on the city of Kharkiv and the surrounding region overnight on March 20. The strikes are part of a concerning pattern of escalating assaults on civilian infrastructure in northeastern Ukraine. One strike hit the Shevchenkivskyi district, damaging a school building and shattering its windows. Emergency services are on the scene, and as of the latest reports, there have been no confirmed casualties.

This latest assault follows a similar attack just days earlier, on the night of March 12, when Russian drones struck two districts of Kharkiv. In a separate incident, a civilian ambulance crew was deliberately targeted in the village of Grushivka, located in the Kharkiv region.

Comment from the City Mayor

'A strike occurred near an educational institution in the Shevchenkivskyi district, with windows blown out in the building. Information about casualties has not been received at this time.' Ihor Terekhov, Mayor of Kharkiv

These repeated attacks highlight the ongoing escalation of the conflict in the region, causing deep concern among local residents and threatening the operation of essential services like schools and medical teams. The persistent targeting of civilian infrastructure underscores the severity of the situation and the critical need to ensure population safety amid the ongoing war.

The recent drone strikes in Kharkiv are part of a troubling trend, as evidenced by a previous incident where two children were injured during a nighttime attack. This highlights the increasing danger faced by civilians, particularly in vulnerable areas.
