Атаки безпілотників пошкодили життєво важливі об'єкти в Харківській області.

Drone Assault on Kharkiv and Its Region

In the early hours of March 5, Russian forces launched a drone attack against the city of Kharkiv and the surrounding Kharkiv region. Strikes were recorded in Kharkiv itself and in the town of Kamiana Yaruga. The attack on Kamiana Yaruga was carried out using a drone, preliminarily identified as a 'Geran' (Geranium) type. The strike damaged an outbuilding on private property and sparked a fire. According to initial reports, there were no casualties in Kamiana Yaruga.

In Kharkiv, a strike by a 'Shahed'-type drone was recorded in the Osnovianskyi district. Information on the consequences of this attack is still being clarified. As noted by Halyna Minaieva,

"the Russians carried out an airstrike using a drone, preliminarily of the 'Geran' type, on the town of Kamiana Yaruga"
. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov also confirmed that
"a strike by an enemy 'Shahed'-type drone was recorded in the Osnovianskyi district of Kharkiv"
. This incident follows another attack on Kharkiv on the night of March 3, during which debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fell in the city's Shevchenkivskyi district. These attacks are part of a sustained campaign against Ukraine's second-largest city, which lies close to the Russian border. Details on the outcomes of all these strikes are still emerging.

Consequences and Ongoing Threats

This assault on Kharkiv and its outskirts underscores the continuation of Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine, often targeting civilian areas. The use of drones for such strikes represents a persistent tactic in the conflict, highlighting the constant threat to urban centers. The situation remains tense as both sides adapt their strategies, and comprehensive information on the full impact of these attacks is still being assessed.
