Russia attacked Kyiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv: casualties and injuries reported

Внаслідок агресії Росії в Києві, Херсоні та Чернігові зафіксовані жертви та поранені.

Attacks on Ukrainian cities

Russia carried out several attacks on Kyiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv using drones and ballistic missiles. As a result of the attacks, there are casualties and injuries, as well as damage to critical infrastructure.

On the night of December 25, Russia attacked Kyiv and the region. At noon that same day, Russian invaders launched an assault on the central part of Kherson, where the city market was hit. This attack was particularly cynical, as people were preparing for the holidays.

“In broad daylight, the occupiers cynically struck the market where people were getting ready for the holiday,” said the head of the Kherson regional administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

Consequences of the attacks

In Chernihiv, Russian occupiers attacked a dense housing area and a critical infrastructure facility, resulting in damage to a five-story residential building. Unfortunately, one person died as a result of this attack. Also, on the night of December 25, Russian terrorists struck the Kernel company, the largest sunflower oil producer in Ukraine, causing damage to the oil capacity and a fire.

“On this day, Christmas, when homes were supposed to be filled with light, silence, and family warmth, the enemy struck again at the residential buildings of the city,” noted an unknown author.

As a result of Russia's aggression, Ukrainian cities have again suffered destruction and sorrow, witnessing new victims among the civilian population.

These new attacks on Ukrainian cities in the context of holiday days highlight the alarming situation in the country, where civilians are once again becoming targets of aggression. Damage to critical infrastructure, especially facilities that ensure the life of the population, indicates the strategic goals of the enemy, which may have long-term consequences for the economy and social stability of Ukraine. While the country prepares for the holidays, the attacks continue to create an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among Ukrainians.
