Attack on Ukraine's critical infrastructure

Russia attacked critical infrastructure, resulting in the death of 4 people, while the State Emergency Service rescuers are currently addressing the consequences of the shelling. The attack led to significant damage in Kyiv and other regions, including Lviv, Kyiv region, Kirovohrad region, and Cherkasy region.

As a result of the shelling, 40 facilities were damaged in Kyiv, among which were 20 residential buildings. Nearly 500 rescuers and 100 units of equipment were involved in addressing the aftermath. In the Dnipro district of Kyiv, the bodies of three individuals were found, two of whom have already been identified. As of now, 4 people have been killed in Kyiv, and at least 25 have been injured, including one medical worker, as well as 4 medical workers and a police officer.

Consequences of the attacks and the response of services

Fires caused by the attacks engulfed residential buildings and outbuildings in Brovary district, Obukhiv district, and Boryspil district. The State Emergency Service rescuers managed to save 40 people, among whom was a family from Brovary district.

Igor Klymenko, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, commented on these events, stating that this is a deliberate strike against emergency services and humanity.

He emphasized that thousands of people across the country are currently working to restore heat and light to citizens' homes. Klymenko also expressed gratitude to rescuers, medical workers, police officers, energy workers, and utility workers for their efforts during this difficult time.

This attack indicates the continuation of Russia's aggressive policies towards Ukraine, leading to serious humanitarian consequences. It is important that rescuers and emergency services respond promptly to the aftermath of the shelling, but significant damage to infrastructure threatens the lives and safety of civilians. The response of the authorities and society to these events may influence the further development of the situation in the country and international support for Ukraine.
