Attack on Nikopol on December 31, 2023
On December 31, 2023, Russian occupiers attacked Nikopol, resulting in casualties and material damages. This information was reported on January 1, 2024, by the acting head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Vladislav Haivanenko. The district center, Pokrovska, Myrivska, Marhanetska, and Chervonohryhorivska communities were under attack.
The attack was carried out using FPV drones and artillery. As a result of the shelling, the following were damaged:
- four private houses;
- two outbuildings;
- one car;
- twelve solar panels;
- gas pipelines.
Four people were injured, among them three men from the Synelnykove district. As a result of the attacks, two private houses and a car caught fire, and three more houses were damaged.
Attack on Volyn
On the night of January 1, Russian invaders also attacked Volyn. Rescuers quickly extinguished fires at critical infrastructure facilities. More than 90 emergency workers and over 20 units of equipment were involved in the firefighting.
These events indicate the continuation of aggressive actions by Russia against Ukraine, particularly in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Attacks on civilian infrastructure, such as residential buildings and critical infrastructure facilities, underscore the seriousness of the situation and the direct threats to the population. In the context of the conflict, the readiness of emergency services and their promptness in mitigating the consequences of such attacks remain crucial.
