Russian Drone Strike Damages Critical Port Infrastructure in Odesa Region

Атака безпілотника на портові 시설ності в Одеській області завдала серйозних пошкоджень.

Odesa Region Targeted in Overnight Assault

Russian attack drones struck the Odesa region overnight, damaging key port and transport infrastructure. The assault targeted a dry cargo warehouse and road containers, with administrative buildings also suffering blown-out windows. According to Governor Oleg Kiper, no fires were reported and there were no casualties from the attack. This attack is part of a sustained Russian campaign targeting Ukraine's vital Black Sea export routes.

Shelling Injures Civilians in Sumy Region

Separately, Russian forces shelled Ukraine's Sumy region over the past day, wounding four civilians, including a child. The communities of Sumy, Shostka, and Okhtyrka districts came under fire, with the attacks also damaging civilian infrastructure in the area. The northeastern border region faces near-daily artillery and mortar strikes.

In the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, a severe crisis in accessing medical care has emerged. Residents now require Russian-issued documents and medical insurance policies to receive treatment, with denial of care extending even to emergencies requiring urgent intervention. These policies highlight the dire humanitarian conditions being imposed on the civilian population under occupation.

The situation in Odesa underscores Russia's ongoing aggression against critical infrastructure far from the front lines. Simultaneously, the shelling in Sumy, resulting in civilian injuries, points to escalating violence in regions where the population continues to suffer from military actions. The systemic denial of healthcare in occupied territories adds a grave new dimension to an already severe humanitarian crisis, emphasizing the urgent need for international attention and support for affected civilians.
