Drone Assaults on Odesa Region

From March 22 to 24, the Odesa region was subjected to a series of Russian drone attacks, resulting in severe damage to civilian infrastructure, private homes, port facilities, and public transport stops. The assaults caused multiple casualties. These strikes are part of a broader pattern of attacks on Ukraine's vital Black Sea coastal regions.

On the evening of March 22, the region came under a concentrated drone assault, with over 20 unmanned aerial vehicles heading toward the area. Air defense systems were activated in response, and explosions continued late into the night. The Russian military resumed attacks on the night of March 23, targeting residential buildings and port infrastructure. Two private homes suffered roof damage and shattered windows, while a warehouse within the port territory was also hit.

Impact and Casualties

On the evening of March 23, one drone struck a public transport stop in the Odesa district. This attack left an 18-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man with moderate injuries, and both are currently under medical supervision.

On the evening of March 24, a Russian drone hit a residential area, completely destroying one house and setting it ablaze. Six neighboring homes sustained damage. One woman was wounded, and another person is feared trapped under the rubble. A search and rescue operation is ongoing, with emergency services and State Emergency Service units working at the scene. Law enforcement is documenting the aftermath.
