Russia attacked Odesa on December 31: infrastructure and residential building damaged

В Одесі 31 грудня стали жертвами обстрілів: зруйновані житлові будинки та важливі об'єкти.

Massive attack on Odesa

On December 31, Russian occupation forces carried out a massive attack on Odesa and the region, striking civilian and energy infrastructure. As a result of the attack, both port and industrial infrastructure were damaged. In one of the settlements of the region, warehouses of a logistics company caught fire, indicating the significant scale of destruction.

Especially serious was the drone strike on a multi-story residential building, which raised concerns among residents. In part of the city, there is no electricity, water, or heating supply, complicating life for people during the winter period.

Call for safety

The regional military administration reported that the Russians' target is again civilian and energy infrastructure. Residents of Odesa are urged to:

  • stay in safe places;
  • avoid approaching impact zones;
  • not to film or disseminate information about the operation of air defense.

Given the situation, the safety of civilians remains a priority.

This attack is part of a prolonged Russian campaign to destroy critical infrastructure in Ukraine, aimed at demoralizing the population and complicating the functioning of the state in wartime.

The lack of electricity, water, and heating in winter creates additional difficulties for the population already suffering from the consequences of the military conflict. The situation in Odesa emphasizes the importance of protecting civilians and infrastructure in armed conflicts.
