Russia attacked Poltava: damage to railways and energy facilities

The Russian army struck Poltava and the region at night on October 7, targeting energy and railway facilities. This caused a halt to train movement and power outages in parts of the city. This was noted by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.



The attack led to damage to the locomotive depot, electricity supply distance, and traction substations. Administrative and storage buildings were also affected. Fortunately, no one was injured, but more than a thousand households are temporarily without electricity supply.


“Railway traffic has been stabilized, critical infrastructure is gradually returning to operation,” Kuleba said.



Actions after the attack


Train movement, power supply, and assistance to the affected have been restored. The Russian aggression is aimed at paralyzing operations during the heating season and obstructing Ukrzaliznytsia.



Continued attacks on Poltava region, incidents of injuries and damage. Rescue and fire departments are involved in eliminating the consequences.



As a result of the massive strike by the Russian army on Poltava and the region, important infrastructure facilities have been damaged, but fortunately, no one was harmed. Authorities are working to restore system operations and provide assistance to the affected, while Russian aggression continues aimed at causing harm and chaos in the region.
