Shelling in the Kharkiv Region
Russian forces have attacked a civilian bus in the Kharkiv region, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to three passengers. The incident occurred near the village of Nova Oleksandrivka, Velykoburlutska community, while the bus, traveling the Burluk to Kharkiv route, was carrying 15 people. The deceased was a 53-year-old driver, and among the injured was a local resident born in 1953. These attacks on civilian transit are part of a wider pattern of strikes on non-military targets. Investigators, explosives experts, and forensic teams are now working at the scene to document this war crime committed by the Russian army. Private homes in the area were also damaged in the assault.
Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure
In a separate incident, Russian troops used a 'Geran' type attack drone to strike the central part of the city of Novhorod-Siverskyi in the Chernihiv region overnight on March 13. The target was a historic building that previously housed the city library, and the attack caused a fire on the second floor of the two-story structure. Furthermore, on the evening of March 12, the Russian military also attacked port infrastructure in the Odesa region with assault drones. The targeting of cultural landmarks and critical infrastructure underscores the severe risks to civilian life and heritage.
These events highlight the ongoing intensity of the conflict in regions affected by Russian aggression. The repeated attacks on civilian transport and cultural sites raise serious concerns for population safety and the devastating impact on local communities. It is crucial that the relevant authorities continue their investigations to document these crimes and hold those responsible to account.
