Assaults on Synelnykiv District and Odesa
On January 19, Russian forces launched attacks on Ukraine's Synelnykiv district in Dnipropetrovsk region, the city of Odesa, and a site in the Koriukivka district of Chernihiv region. The assault on Synelnykiv involved drones, damaging infrastructure, vehicles, a gas pipeline, and sparking a building fire. Separately, Russian artillery shelled the Nikopol area. These attacks are part of a wider pattern of strikes on civilian areas far from the front lines. The strike on Odesa resulted in damage to residential buildings and infrastructure, while the target in Chernihiv's Koriukivka district was an energy facility.
Oleksandr Ganzha reported that there were no casualties from these attacks.
The ongoing assaults raise serious concerns for the safety of civilians in these regions, as the shelling continues to inflict damage on vital civilian infrastructure.
