July 10 Attack on Ukraine
On the night of July 10, Russia launched a large-scale drone attack against Ukraine, deploying 137 unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukraine’s defense forces—including aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups—managed to shoot down or neutralize 114 of them.
The primary types of drones destroyed or suppressed include:
- Shahed
- Gerbera
- Italmas
- Banderol loitering munitions
- Parody decoy drones
Eighteen drones struck 16 separate locations, with debris from downed drones falling at four of those sites. In June 2026, at least 265 civilians were killed and 1,816 wounded in Ukraine—marking the highest monthly casualty figures since Russia’s full-scale invasion began. This attack is part of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, which continues to cause severe human suffering and widespread destruction.
Humanitarian Toll of the Conflict
The rising civilian death toll underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for international action to address the war’s humanitarian consequences. At the same time, Ukraine’s successful defense—neutralizing the vast majority of incoming drones—highlights significant progress in strengthening its military capabilities.
