Drone Strikes Hit Zaporizhzhia, Injuring Civilians and Damaging Homes

Внаслідок авіаударів дронів у Запоріжжі постраждали мирні жителі та знищені житлові будівлі.

Strikes Target Zaporizhzhia

On February 15, Russian forces carried out a drone attack on Zaporizhzhia. The strike damaged a private house and caused a fire, resulting in injuries to three civilians. The wounded include a 75-year-old man and two women, aged 73 and 55, all of whom are receiving medical care. These attacks are part of a broader pattern of assaults on Ukrainian cities far from the front lines.

This followed an earlier nighttime attack on February 11, when Russian assault drones struck an infrastructure facility in the regional center. That attack triggered a large-scale fire and blew out windows in several residential buildings, though preliminary reports indicated no casualties.

Attacks on the Zaporizhzhia Region

On the evening of February 10, occupying forces also attacked the Zaporizhzhia district. A strike on the city of Vilniansk injured one woman, destroyed a private home, and damaged nearby structures. The attack also cut power to the Vilniansk community. Earlier that same day, a Russian military strike on Zaporizhzhia damaged a kindergarten.

These recent strikes on Zaporizhzhia and its surrounding areas indicate a continued escalation of the conflict in the region. The use of drones as an attack method highlights a shift in combat tactics with significant implications for the civilian population. The damage to infrastructure and residential buildings, along with civilian injuries, raises serious concerns for the safety of the region's inhabitants.
