Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv region: what is happening on the front and in the world

В Україні триває напруженість: нові обстріли Запоріжжя та Чернігівщини.

Attacks in Ukraine and protests in Iran

Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv region and Chuhuiv, which occurred against the backdrop of mass protests in Iran and condemnation of China's military exercises near Taiwan. Yesterday, around 23:45, Russian occupiers carried out nine strikes on Zaporizhzhia. These shellings marked a new stage of escalation of the conflict in the region.

Situation in Chernihiv region and Chuhuiv

In Chernihiv region, as a result of the attack, three drones hit a medical facility in Semenivka. This was a serious violation of international humanitarian law, as medical institutions should remain outside of the combat zone. At the same time, in Chuhuiv, a strike was recorded on a non-residential building, which also indicates risks to civilian objects.

Alongside these events, mass protests began in Iran, reportedly starting in late 2025. During clashes in Lordegan, at least two people were killed, raising concerns among the local population and the international community.

Moreover, the United States expressed concern about China's military maneuvers that began near Taiwan in late December 2025.

According to Thomas Piggott, 'Beijing has no justification for such military activity.'
These events reflect the growing tension in international relations and the potential consequences for regional security.

Thus, the situation on the front in Ukraine and in the world remains tense, with numerous challenges to security and stability. Attacks on civilian objects in Ukraine raise concerns about compliance with international norms, while protests in Iran and military exercises by China near Taiwan highlight the broader context of global instability. These events may have far-reaching consequences for international politics and security in the region.
