On Thursday, August 21, Russia struck the factory of the American company Flex in Mukachevo, deciding to 'liberate' Ukraine from coffee machines. This was reported by Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram, as noted by 'Khvylya'.
As a result of the massive Russian attack on Ukraine, 'Shahed' drones, cruise missiles, and air-based ballistic missiles 'Kinzhal' were used. Among the targets hit was the 'Flextronics' factory of the American company Flex International, which produces electronics on a contract basis.
'The enemy decided to 'liberate' Ukraine from coffee machines', emphasized Prime Minister Svyrydenko.
According to journalist Hlahola, during the missile attack, there were 600 employees at the factory, who were timely evacuated to shelters.
Victims and consequences of the attack
Nineteen people were injured during the attack, including:
- 10 people were taken to St. Martin's hospital by 'ambulance' crews
- Another 9 sought help on their own
Currently, 6 patients remain hospitalized with various injuries resulting from the attack.
Reaction of the leadership
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed outrage over the attack on a civilian enterprise. He also stressed that such shelling would not have military significance but would only seek to panic the population.
'Russia will not win the war, the rear will not break. Just a desire to kill and terrorize civilians', emphasized the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Kovalенко.
Russia launched a missile attack on the factory in Mukachevo, which belongs to the American company Flex, in other words, attempted to harm the Ukrainian economy. The attack resulted in the suffering of 19 people, who were hospitalized, and caused outrage among the Ukrainian leadership.
