He explained that Ukrainian forces periodically exhaust the enemy, resulting in a decrease in the pace of advancement or intensity of operations. According to Zhorin, enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups deliver significant strikes in the rear of the Ukrainian defense, exploiting weak points in the defense.
These positions are often either poorly fortified or not defended at all because there are simply people working there without active defense. When the enemy breaks through there, it is very difficult to push them out.
Currently, the situation in Sumy region has stabilized somewhat, but the threat from the border remains relevant for Kharkiv region as well. According to Zhorin, it is crucial for the enemy to push deeper into Ukrainian territory.
