Recent studies show that the Kremlin is strengthening its military presence in Armenia due to the increasing tension in relations with Azerbaijan. In particular, military bases in Gyumri are receiving new equipment, and military personnel from the Rostov and Volgograd regions, as well as from occupied Crimea, are being recruited into the groups.
According to a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the deployment of Russian troops in Armenia is only part of a broader Kremlin strategy aimed at destabilizing the situation in the South Caucasus. Ukrainian intelligence continues to monitor the movements of Russian troops, analyzing potential security threats in the region due to their increase.
