Russia is suffering losses in Sumy region: defense forces are holding back the enemy's advance
Russian units are suffering losses and cannot advance in the territory of the Krasnopillia community in the Sumy region, where Ukrainian defense forces are systematically striking the enemy. As of December 25, no active attacks by Russian troops on the positions of Ukrainian units in the Hrabovske area have been recorded. However, on December 18, Russian servicemen entered the village of Hrabovske, which is under the control of occupation forces.
It is known that units of the 36th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation kidnapped 52 civilians from the settlement, including children. Additionally, 13 Ukrainian servicemen were captured. Despite these incidents, Ukrainian defense forces continue to fulfill their primary task - preventing the enemy's advance deeper into the Sumy region.
Situation at the front
Andriy Demchenko noted that the enemy cannot achieve results regarding further advancement and escalation of battles across Ukrainian territory. Instead, Russian troops are suffering losses. The activity of Russian units is concentrated in the areas of Khotyn, Yunakiiv, and Krasnopillia communities, however, the defense forces are successfully holding back their advance.
The situation in Sumy region indicates the ongoing struggle of Ukrainian forces against Russian aggressors, who, despite their attempts to occupy new territories, are facing serious problems. The abduction of civilians highlights the humanitarian consequences of the conflict, which remain critical in conditions of war. The reported losses of Russian units may indicate the effectiveness of Ukrainian defense strategies and readiness to withstand further attacks, which is an important factor in the overall context of the war in Ukraine.
