The President of Latvia condemned the violation of Estonian airspace by Russian fighters

The President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, expressed his opinion on the violation of Estonian airspace by Russian fighters. He emphasized that such actions by Russia only confirm the need to strengthen NATO measures and European sanctions.

According to Rinkēvičs, the invasion of Russian drones into Poland and the violation of Estonian airspace by Russian fighters are new examples of hybrid warfare. In his view, Russia wants to test NATO's reaction to its actions.

'No one wishes to start a new war, but a reaction to Russia's actions is necessary. Finding the right response is difficult, but this process is ongoing. The more Russia provokes NATO, the greater the risk of conflict. Russia is playing on the edge, but trying not to cross that line. However, knowing Russia, that could happen, and the Kremlin is responsible.'

Rinkēvičs emphasized that Russia will stop its provocations only after receiving a counter-response and called on allies to remind of this. He believes that these are difficult times that require responsibility and resilience. But he is confident that together they can overcome these challenges.
