- Pishchane in the Kharkiv region,
- Makiivka in the Luhansk region,

The most intense offensive actions are currently being recorded near Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia. This region has been a focal point of fighting since the early stages of Russia's full-scale invasion.
Military Expert Commentary
During a meeting on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' activities in February 2026, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Ukraine's military regained control over a larger area of territory than what the enemy managed to seize during that month. Concurrently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the Russian military's spring campaign this year has failed, and they were unable to mount a large-scale offensive.
Military expert Dmytro Filatov believes the situation in Huliaipole is severe, describing the settlement as 'almost occupied'. Thus, amidst ongoing heavy combat, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue efforts to restore control over lost territories.
The frontline situation remains tense as active hostilities persist, with control over key settlements potentially having a significant impact on the conflict's trajectory. Regaining territory in the face of enemy aggression is a critical strategic objective for Ukraine, demanding considerable effort and coordination of military operations. The subsequent actions of both sides could substantially alter the course of the war and the regional situation.
