Since the beginning of the 2020s, Russia has increased its diversionary operations in Europe by almost four times, shocking analysts and putting the sensitive infrastructure of countries at risk.
'Although Russia has not yet achieved its main objective, European capitals are trying to counter Russian diversionary operations and find it difficult to coordinate a unified response, coordinate actions, develop effective measures, and impose sufficient costs on the Kremlin,'
noted in the report of the International Institute for Strategic Studies. These attacks include arson, GPS navigation disruptions, hacker attacks, and other destabilizing actions that, unfortunately, have become a specter for some European countries. Currently, there is a slowdown in such actions, but their causes still require further investigation.
