The Estonian Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Taro reported that Russian electronic warfare systems have approached the borders with the country. The Russian army has installed equipment to block radio signals in the city of Kingisepp, which is located 20 km from the border with Estonia, causing serious concern in the Baltic states.
The Estonian Internal Security Agency has contacted the Russian military regarding the placement of these systems. Such equipment has already been used in combat operations in Ukraine to intercept navigation signals of drones and interfered with GPS operation, which can lead to negative consequences for commercial aircraft and ships.
As a result of the deployment of Russian electronic warfare systems near the border with Estonia, tensions in the region have increased. Such actions by the Kremlin have caused outrage in the Baltic states and the European Union, highlighting the need for increased international oversight of Russian military activity in the region.
