Russian troops have once again attacked Ukraine's gas infrastructure. The attack is aimed at civilian facilities essential for providing gas during the winter period. The head of Naftogaz, Serhiy Koretsky, emphasizes that these attacks have no military purpose and are purely terrorist in nature.
“There are hits and destruction,” Koretsky stated, adding that specialists from the company are already working on-site to mitigate the aftermath.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted that this is just part of a large-scale campaign of aggression by the Russian Federation against the energy and critical infrastructure of Ukraine ahead of the heating season. Zelensky stressed the use of over 50 missiles and about 500 strike drones in this attack, which targeted several regions of Ukraine.
