Massive Attack by the Russian Federation: 16 Dead in Ternopil and Strikes on Energy Infrastructure

On Wednesday, November 19, throughout the night, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukrainian cities. According to 'Hvylya' and the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian troops fired about 50 missiles and 476 drones on the territory of the country. The air defense forces managed to destroy a significant number of enemy targets.



Ternopil


As a result of the attack, Ternopil became a particular 'hotspot'. One of the buildings was severely damaged, another caught fire, and clouds of smoke rose over the city. The police report 16 dead and 64 injured, including 14 children. Two multi-story buildings suffered critical damage, with one still ablaze while the other had floors collapse from the third to the ninth.


The Mayor of Ternopil, Serhiy Nadal, stated: 'Murderers shelled our city with missiles and flares. Buildings and residential structures are damaged. There are casualties. Rescue operations are currently underway. Detailed information will be disclosed later.'

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko drew attention to the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil regions, which suffered the main blow. Currently, over five hundred rescuers and more than a hundred units of equipment are working at 9 active locations.



Ivano-Frankivsk Region


The Ivano-Frankivsk region also did not escape the attacks. Monitoring channels recorded the movement of enemy objects towards Burshtyn TPP, where explosions were occurring. The head of the regional authority, Svitlana Onyschuk, reported 3 injured, including 2 children.



Lviv


The Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, reported that the thick smoke in the city was due to a fire at warehouses that were hit by missiles. Currently, there is no information about casualties. It has been noted that only one household suffered significant damage due to this incident.



Kharkiv


In the Kharkiv region, railway infrastructure, energy facilities, and civilian buildings were damaged. Although heating and water supply have been restored, there are still problems with public transportation and electricity supply. 46 local residents were affected, including 2 children.


Government authorities confirmed the scale of the attack by Russia on Ukraine and initiated emergency measures to assist the affected cities and residents. The joint work of rescuers and medical services, as well as the mobilization of the public, are key tasks at the moment.
