Russia has deployed a submarine carrier of missiles into the sea: the first time in 2023

Російські військові посилили свої морські сили, розмістивши підводний човен з ракетами в океані.

Submarine's Exit and Russia's Aggression

For the first time in 2023, Russian troops have deployed a missile carrier submarine into open waters. This exit occurred against the backdrop of ongoing military aggression from Russia, notably on January 5, 2023, when the Russian terrorist army attacked the Ukrainian capital and other regions.

As a result of the January 5 attack, one person was killed and three were injured. Russian troops attacked Chernihiv using ballistic weapons and drones. The target of this attack was one of the city enterprises. The main focus of the strike encompassed:

  • Chernihiv
  • Kyiv
  • Vyshhorod
  • Chernihiv Oblast
  • Kyiv Oblast
  • Kharkiv Oblast

Strategic Significance of the Submarine

Dmytro Pletenchuk noted that the first exit of a submarine into the sea can be recorded this year. However, he emphasized that there is nothing new in this. Thus, the submarine's exit occurs against the backdrop of serious military actions ongoing in Ukraine.

The submarine's exit into open sea space may have strategic significance for Russia's military operations, as submarines are capable of not only executing offensive tasks but also serving as a means of deterrence. - Dmytro Pletenchuk

The events of January 5, which resulted in civilian casualties, confirm the continuation of Russia's aggressive policy towards Ukraine, which may affect the international response and further support for Ukraine from Western partners.
