CRISIS IN THE RUSSIAN SPACE INDUSTRY
The situation in the Russian space industry is far from ideal, even despite the paintovers from propagandists. According to the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, the Rocket and Space Corporation 'Energy' is on the verge of bankruptcy. The head of the company, Igor Maltsev, stated that they are facing a difficult situation with debts, loss of motivation among staff, and the threat of closure.
Furthermore, the private holding SR Space, which promised a revolution in launch vehicles and satellites, announced its bankruptcy. As a result of sanctions, Russia has lost access to Western technologies, and space launches for foreign clients have practically stopped, experts emphasize.
“The myth of Russia as a 'great space power' is gradually falling apart: the industry is degrading, losing personnel, technologies, and prospects”
In the context of war, space remains a secondary priority, the Center emphasizes. The main efforts today are directed towards the army and weapons, while the space industry is in a difficult state.
Summary:
The Russian space industry is experiencing a crisis due to financial problems, loss of access to Western technologies, and loss of motivation among staff. This situation has led to the bankruptcy of several major companies in the industry, making space research in Russia relatively secondary amid the country's military activity.
