Russia has lost over a million soldiers in war: new data from the General Staff as of September 12

As of the morning of Friday, September 12, 2025, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine updated the losses of Russian occupiers.



Losses of Russia in the war as of September 12, 2025


As of now, the Russian Federation has the following losses in the war with Ukraine:



  • personnel - about 1,092,780 people;

  • tanks - 11,177 units;

  • combat armored vehicles - 23,266 units;

  • artillery systems - 32,668 units;

  • MLRS - 1,485 units;

  • air defense systems - 1,217 units;

  • aircraft - 422 units;

  • helicopters - 341 units;

  • operational-tactical level UAVs - 58,467 units;

  • cruise missiles - 3,718 units;

  • ships/boats - 28 units;

  • submarines - 1 unit;

  • automotive equipment and fuel trucks - 61,403 units;

  • special equipment - 3,964 units.



It is also worth noting that the full-scale war in Ukraine is now in its 1,297th day.



Updated data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shows high losses among Russian occupiers during military operations on the territory of Ukraine. This indicates the continuation of active hostilities and the determination of Ukrainian military personnel to defend their country.
