Since the start of the day, the enemy has carried out two missile and 77 aviation strikes, launching three missiles and dropping 133 guided aviation bombs. A total of 1,568 kamikaze drones have also been used and about 4,000 shellings have been conducted.
On August 17, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces repelled 126 enemy attacks in one day. Government troops are effectively defending themselves, inflicting significant losses on the enemy across various directions.

The situation is most tense in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces are responding to enemy attacks, inflicting serious losses on the adversary. At the same time, enemy equipment has been destroyed, and some positions of the aggressor have been isolated.
- In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks and responded to enemy aviation strikes.
- In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, there were two attacks on Ukrainian positions near Kam'yanka.
- In the Kupiansk direction, battles were ongoing in the areas of Kindrashivka, Zapadne, Holubivka, and Stepova Novoselivka.
- The Liman direction also did not escape attention: Russian occupiers attacked Karpivka, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodyazi, and other populated areas.
- In Hryhorivka in the Siversky direction, it was possible to repel an enemy attack.
- In the Toretsky direction, four enemy attacks were repelled by Ukrainian forces.
- The Pokrovsk direction suffered 38 attacks, which Ukrainian defenders are holding firmly.
- In the Novopavlivsk direction, all enemy attacks near various populated areas have been repelled.
Ukraine continues to fight during a prolonged war that has lasted for 1270 days. Ukrainian forces are effectively defending the country's territory from aggression by the enemy.
