Coordinated Attacks Target Ukrainian Cities
Russian forces launched a combined assault using drones and missiles against the cities of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv. In Kharkiv, explosions were reported across several districts, including Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi. The strikes, involving two ballistic missiles and a group of Shahed-type drones, resulted in damage to:
- Apartment buildings
- Private homes
- Overhead power lines
- A gas pipeline
A direct hit on a multi-story building in the Shevchenkivskyi district caused a fire in the Slobidskyi district. In the Saltivskyi district, a strike destroyed a private house and also damaged the wall of an apartment block and several parked cars.
Casualties and Aftermath
According to local officials, four people sought medical assistance in Kharkiv, bringing the total number of injured there to five. Another person in Kharkiv is currently receiving medical care. In Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian forces recorded at least 12 impacts, with several floors of a damaged high-rise building now on fire. One person remains trapped in an apartment in Zaporizhzhia.
In Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district, a shop building was damaged in the attack. The situation remains tense as the aerial assault continues. The cities targeted were Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv, with Kharkiv's hardest-hit districts being:
- Shevchenkivskyi
- Kyivskyi
- Slobidskyi
- Saltivskyi
These strikes are part of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which continues to inflict significant human and material losses. Attacks on civilian infrastructure have drawn repeated condemnation from international bodies. The recent escalation in military activity underscores the war's severe and persistent toll on Ukraine's urban centers and civilian population.
