Russia Launches Coordinated Strikes Across Ukraine
Russia has conducted a major assault on Ukraine's civilian and energy infrastructure, causing severe disruptions in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Sumy regions. These attacks are part of a sustained campaign targeting the country's power grid, especially during the winter months. In Kyiv, heating was cut off to approximately 2,600 residential buildings as a direct result of the strikes. An additional 1,100 buildings lost heat due to earlier damage sustained by the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant. Water supply and sewage systems in the capital, however, continue to operate without interruption.
In Odesa, around 300,000 people have been left without a water supply, and nearly 200 buildings in the city are also without heat. In Dnipro, heating services were suspended for 10,000 customers. Emergency crews, energy workers, and utility services are actively working at the sites to restore power, water, and heating. Their efforts are focused on mitigating the impact of the attacks and returning infrastructure to normal operation.

These strikes underscore the ongoing nature of the conflict and its direct impact on civilians, highlighting the critical importance of protecting energy infrastructure during wartime.
