Russia shifts focus of the offensive to Lyman: Ukrainian forces have regained positions

Військові дії в районі Лиману: українські підрозділи відновили контроль над ключовими територіями.

Situation on the Lyman and Pokrovsk directions

The Russian military command has shifted the focus of its offensive efforts to the Lyman direction, where the intensity of combat clashes has increased. As of December 13, 2025, Ukrainian units have regained positions to the northwest of Lyman, indicating active actions on their part. Meanwhile, Russian troops are demonstrating partial advances, in particular, Colonel Dmytro Zaporozhets reported attempts by Russian forces to outflank Yampil in order to create conditions for encirclement.

Difficult situation in the Pokrovsk direction

The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains difficult: no confirmed territorial changes have been recorded over the day, and assault actions continue. Ukrainian units have opportunities for maneuvering, but weather conditions significantly complicate the execution of combat missions. Russian sources also report a shortage of artillery ammunition in the units conducting assaults near Gryshyn.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the Kupiansk direction, underscoring the attention of the Ukrainian command to various fronts. The situation in the Lyman direction and in other combat zones continues to be tense, requiring both sides to quickly adapt to changing conditions.

The latest events in the Lyman and Pokrovsk directions indicate a continuation of active combat actions, where both sides are trying to strengthen their positions. The shift in focus of Russian troops to Lyman may indicate strategic intentions to create new conditions for the offensive, while Ukrainian forces, adapting their actions to challenges, maintain opportunities for maneuver. The situation with resources also remains important, particularly the shortage of ammunition in Russian units, which may affect their ability to conduct active combat operations in the future.
