Railway Station in Dnipropetrovsk Region Targeted by Drones

A Russian drone attack struck a railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, injuring a locomotive engineer. According to information provided by Oleksiy Kuleba, the engineer sustained injuries but is now in stable condition. The strike ignited a fire at the impact site.

Part of a Broader Escalation

This incident is part of a series of aggressive actions by the Russian military across Ukraine. These attacks on civilian infrastructure, including railways and residential buildings, represent a dangerous escalation in the conflict. For instance, on February 28th, Russian forces also attacked Ukrainian cities with drones, triggering a series of powerful explosions in Dnipro. Previously, on the night of February 17th, a Russian assault on Dnipro caused a fire and damaged an administrative building and several vehicles.

  • On the night of February 12th, Russian forces struck Dnipro using ballistic missiles and drones. This attack injured two children: an infant and a four-year-old girl.
  • A 16-story residential building was partially destroyed, with fires breaking out in two apartments covering a total area of 200 square meters.
  • Rescuers successfully evacuated 16 people from the upper floors of the building, with preliminary reports indicating six injured, including one child.

These recent strikes on Ukrainian cities continue to have severe consequences for both infrastructure and the civilian population.

The events underscore a marked intensification of military actions within Ukraine, particularly in regions bordering occupied territories. Targeting civilian infrastructure endangers the lives of non-combatants and risks causing long-term damage to the region's economy and security. This situation highlights the critical need for robust civilian protection and sustained international cooperation to counter the aggression.
