In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a DTEK emergency crew became a victim of a Russian drone during work to restore a damaged power line. This information was disclosed by the company.
«In Dnipropetrovsk region, the DTEK emergency crew 'Dniprovskyi Electric Networks' was attacked by an enemy drone while carrying out works to restore a damaged power line in the frontline zone. At 17:55, a drone strike was recorded on the service vehicle of the power engineers. As a result of the explosion, the vehicle was completely burnt along with the equipment and materials for restoration work,» – the message says.
Fortunately, no one was injured as the workers managed to get out of the vehicle before the drone struck. Such attacks on DTEK repair teams are becoming increasingly common during operations in frontline and occupied areas.
The danger for power engineers in the region
Since the beginning of 2025, two power engineers have already been injured in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and one more died while fulfilling his duties. This once again confirms that workers in the energy sector face serious danger in the region while performing their duties.
DTEK reported that emergency crews operating in the conflict zone have become targets of drone attacks. This situation again underscores the risks faced by energy sector workers in the region.
