On the night of August 2, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 53 drones: 45 of them were Shahed UAVs and decoy drones, along with eight jet drones. According to information from the Commander-in-Chief, this was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, the Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or destroyed 45 aerial targets: eight jet drones and 37 Shahed-type UAVs and various kinds of decoy drones on the territory of the country.
Attack on Balakleya and Taganrog
Thus, on the night of August 2, Russian troops launched an attack on the central part of Balakleya in the Kharkiv region.
As a result of the attack, at least two explosions occurred in the city, during which strike drones damaged private homes and non-residential buildings. In addition, on the previous night, drones also attacked the city of Taganrog in the Rostov region, where at least 10 explosions occurred.
Moreover, drones targeted the Rostov region, specifically the city of Salsk, where a significant fire broke out as a result of an explosion near a railway facility.
The Ukrainian Air Forces suffered significant losses; however, thanks to the effective operation of air defense, they managed to counter this threat and inflict substantial losses on enemy drones.
