In the Lyman direction, Russian assault troops have changed their tactics, trying to bypass the positions of the Defense Forces, enter the rear, and identify the positions of UAV operators and mortarmen in order to impose gunfights.

According to a junior sergeant of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Mstislav the Brave, the occupiers are actively using drones for infantry assaults, often conducting night attacks using tents for concealment.

They cut the bottom of the tent, throw it over themselves, and move in this way. They are accompanied by drones. The operator waits for the moment when he is visible in the thermal drone, and transmits over the radio, 'we need to take a breath, you become visible'. This tactic is quite common; there are already entire such tent cities in front of our forward positions, - the junior sergeant said.

Russians actively use drones and motorcycle groups in battle. Ukrainian warriors repel most of such assaults even at the approach. According to the junior sergeant, the Russians in the Lyman direction have limitations on deploying artillery. The enemy cannot pull artillery to the right bank of the Black Zherebets River, so it has not been possible to deploy their artillery everywhere in the area of responsibility of the 66th Brigade. Such tactics of the Russian military indicate their attempts to adapt to the conditions of modern warfare and to counter Ukrainian unmanned systems.
