Attacks Across Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Russian shelling in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has damaged a fire and rescue unit, residential areas, and infrastructure, resulting in civilian injuries. In the Synelnykove district, a Russian strike hit a fire-rescue unit building; while the emergency workers themselves were unharmed, the attack sparked a fire in a nearby residential area. This secondary fire damaged private homes, outbuildings, and passenger vehicles.
Impact on Infrastructure and Civilians
In the Kamianske district, two men were wounded and transport infrastructure was damaged. Several fires broke out at an infrastructure facility in Kryvyi Rih. In the Nikopol district, a residential building was struck, also causing civilian injuries.
Separately, rescue services dealt with the aftermath of Russian attacks in Odesa Oblast. Overnight, the coastline of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district was struck, igniting a fire across wooden buildings at a disused recreation base, covering an area of 250 square meters. In the early hours of March 5, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and settlements in the region with strike drones, with impacts recorded in Kharkiv and the village of Kamiana Yaruga.
These strikes are part of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began in February 2022, an escalation of a conflict ongoing since 2014. The targeting of emergency services, a potential violation of international humanitarian law, severely complicates rescue efforts and increases risks for civilians.
