Growing threat to Ukrainian aviation
The Russians are using strike drones 'Shahed' equipped with portable air defense systems (MANPADS) to hunt Ukrainian aviation. Today, Ukrainian defenders recorded 'Shahed' with MANPADS for the first time, indicating an escalation of the threat to military aircraft and helicopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
New capabilities of 'Shahed' drones
Serhiy Beskrestnov reported on the new capabilities of 'Shahed' drones, which can now not only perform reconnaissance functions but also be actively used to attack airborne targets. The 'Shahed' drone is equipped with a camera and a radio modem, allowing for effective transmission of information and target coordinates.
Serhiy Flesh urged army aviation pilots to consider this new threat. The detection of such drones can significantly impact the tactics of conducting air operations and requires a corresponding response from Ukrainian forces.
This development highlights the growing complexity of combat conditions for Ukrainian aviation, as the new capabilities of 'Shahed' drones can significantly alter the balance of power in the air.

The adaptation of Ukrainian military forces to such threats is critically important to ensure the safety and effectiveness of aviation operations in the face of increasing danger from the enemy.
