Russia is preparing for a new mobilization in Melitopol, which is set to take place ahead of the autumn conscription in 2025, as reported by the portal «Glavkom». The occupying administration plans to take measures for the forced recruitment of local residents into military structures and medical commissions.

According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, such actions constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law and an attempt to forcibly recruit Ukrainians for military action against their own country.

«The forced recruitment of the population from temporarily occupied territories into the Russian army is a gross violation of international law and constitutes a war crime. The promises of the Kremlin to these people are mere empty words», – the message states.

Experts also emphasize that Russian propaganda presents its actions as care for the local population, but in reality, it uses Ukrainians as cannon fodder for its military goals.

Among those threatened with mobilization are men who have obtained Russian citizenship or provided their data to the enemy. The main way to avoid mobilization is to leave for territory controlled by Ukraine or change residence, circumventing checkpoints and crossing the border.
