Renewed Russian Attacks Hit Multiple Regions
Ukraine's Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi said Russian forces launched additional missiles and drones across several regions while emergency crews were still responding to an earlier overnight assault. Among those killed in the follow-up attacks was Oleksandr Prodan, a firefighter-rescuer working in the Zaporizhzhia area. Two other emergency workers sustained injuries and were taken to hospital immediately.
The danger extended to civilians as well. In the Odesa region, a bus carrying 12 children came under fire during a daytime strike; one child received light scratches but no one was seriously hurt. Damage in Odesa itself from the overnight shelling included residential buildings, a hotel, and civilian and energy infrastructure. In Kharkiv, police and rescue personnel evacuated residents from a damaged building, including a family with a baby and a man in a wheelchair. Nearly 40 people were reported injured in that region.
Emergency Crews and Police Respond Under Fire
In Kharkiv, a mobile service center run by the Ministry of Internal Affairs was set up at the scene, where staff provided dozens of consultations. In the Semenivka community in Chernihiv region, a drone struck near a shop, and police used a service vehicle to take three wounded people to the hospital. Police in Odesa are collecting statements from residents whose property was damaged and recording the crimes.
