Russians are traveling more frequently in Europe: three countries where they are most numerous

In 2024, Russian tourists have been noted for making more frequent trips to Europe, despite the existing sanctions. The most popular vacation destinations have become France, Italy, and Spain, NATO and EU member countries.

An analysis of data on hotel stays, rental housing, and visa acquisitions by Russians has recorded an increase in the activity of Russian tourists in the region. However, Ukrainian diplomats see this as a threat to Europe's security, particularly given the escalation of cyberattacks and hybrid threats from Russia.
Caution in cooperation with Russian tourists in Europe is noted to be crucial for ensuring security and stability in the region.
