Incident in Lviv
On January 15, 2026, Russian troops struck a children's playground in Lviv. The incident occurred during snow clearing by municipal workers, and fortunately, no one was injured, although the blast wave affected a tractor driver working nearby. The playground, located near the Bandera monument, was burned as a result of the attack, but the monument itself was not damaged.
The explosion led to temporary road closures on Mytropolit Andrei and Sheptytsky streets, as well as the suspension of trolleybus routes No. 27, No. 32, and No. 38. In the capital, in the Solomianskyi district, a wall was reported to be damaged over an area of about 4 square meters.
Comment from the Mayor of Lviv
The Mayor of Lviv, Andrii Sadovyi, commented on the incident, stating: 'The enemy drone fell on the children's playground near the Bandera monument. A symbolic place - that which the aggressor fears the most.'
This attack once again highlighted the threat posed by Russian aggression and the importance of protecting civilian facilities and infrastructure in Ukraine.
