Russian Strikes Hit Three Ukrainian Regions: Dozens Killed and Wounded

Attacks on Dnipropetrovsk and Other Ukrainian Regions

On July 2, 2024, Russian forces launched attacks on three districts in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killing two people, including a child, and injuring nine others. The enemy also targeted Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv, where 23 fatalities have been confirmed in the capital. These assaults mark a significant escalation in hostilities, with civilian areas bearing the brunt of the violence.

The attack on Dnipropetrovsk occurred during daytime. Occupiers carried out nearly 40 strikes across three districts: Dnipro, Nikopol, and Synelnykove. In the Dnipro district, the following were damaged:

  • a gymnasium;
  • apartment buildings.

In the Nikopol area, the district center and the communities of Marhanets, Myrove, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrovsk were hit. A private home and vehicles were damaged, and a 66-year-old man was killed. Additionally, a 75-year-old man is hospitalized in serious condition, while a 72-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man are in moderate condition.

In the Synelnykove district, strikes targeted the Bohynivka, Vasylkivka, and Petropavlivka communities. Apartment buildings, private homes, cars, and infrastructure were damaged. A seven-year-old girl was killed. An 11-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy are hospitalized in moderate condition, along with three adults, two of whom are in serious condition requiring medical care.

Strikes on Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv

On the afternoon of July 2, the enemy used drones to strike Zaporizhzhia, wounding seven people. During the night of July 2, the Russian army attacked Kyiv in one of the largest assaults on the capital. Twenty-eight locations in Kyiv were affected, with the death toll confirmed at 23. The types of weapons used in the Kyiv attack included:

  • drones;
  • ballistic and cruise missiles;
  • hypersonic Zircon missiles.
