On the night of January 5, Russian occupiers struck the Kyiv region, resulting in one person dead and damage to residential and private houses, vehicles, and a medical center. The attack occurred in several areas of the region, including Fastiv, Vyshhorod, and Obukhiv.

In the Fastiv district, a local resident was killed. As a result of the strikes, one residential building was destroyed, 13 private houses, three vehicles, and six garages were damaged. In Vyshhorod district, a five-story residential building was damaged, while in Obukhiv district, a private house was affected.

Reaction to the Events

Response groups from the patrol police, investigative teams, explosives experts, and rescue services are working at the scenes. During the attack, a drone strike was recorded hitting a private medical center building in the Obolon district of Kyiv. Four more civilians have also been confirmed injured. Criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the events under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

This attack is part of the ongoing aggression by Russia against Ukraine that has lasted since 2014. Armed attacks on civilian objects, such as residential buildings and medical institutions, violate international humanitarian norms and highlight the escalation of the conflict. The response of law enforcement and rescuers indicates the need for urgent actions to address the consequences of aggression and protect the civilian population.
