The Russian troops are trying to advance in the Siversky direction by crossing the Siversky Donets River to carry out assault actions. This was reported by the spokesperson of the 11th Army Corps, Dmytro Zaporolets, during a telethon.

Russia's offensive actions in the wooded area

According to Zaporolets, the enemy is conducting offensive actions in the Serebryansk forest district, but due to the density of the forest, it is difficult to destroy them. Ukrainian units are making maximum efforts to prevent the Russians from advancing.

'There are cases when the enemy swims across the Siversky Donets River to carry out assault actions towards Serebryanka,' noted the spokesperson.

The Russian troops are using a specific movement tactic. They move through the forest one or two at a time, not attempting to engage in open battle, but rather bypassing Ukrainian positions. Although the number of Russian attacks has decreased, the occupiers have not abandoned their strategic goal - to secure themselves around Siversk before the autumn rains begin.

Confrontation of Ukrainian defenders

'The enemy sometimes has the opportunity to reach the outskirts, but they are effectively destroyed by the units stationed there. The enemy is trying to use the greenery while the leaves have not fallen to accumulate and carry out assault actions again,' added the spokesperson.

'The density of the forest does not allow to actively and quickly destroy the enemy, as they are constantly moving, so the UAV operators are making significant efforts,' explained Zaporolets.

The Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the Russian advance despite the difficult conditions of combat in the wooded area.

In the conflict zone in the Siversky direction, the militants are trying to advance by using wooded areas and the Siversky Donets River for assault actions. Ukrainian units are actively resisting the attacks, trying to prevent the enemy from advancing to the frontline positions.
