The evacuation of residents from the Korabel microdistrict continues in Kherson due to Russian airstrikes, which have severely compromised the humanitarian situation.
Authorities reported a mass exodus of people from the danger zone due to difficulties in delivering food and medications.
'Due to complicated logistics, it is problematic to deliver food, medications, and other necessary items,' noted the head of the regional military-civil administration.
Russian attacks severed the microdistrict from the main part of the city, creating a difficult situation for more than 1500 residents who remained.
In total, more than 400 people have already been evacuated, and only in the last day, 219 residents have left the area.
There is concern about the situation with children: of the 44 children who lived there, only 10 remain. Two families refuse to evacuate their children.
Authorities provide support to evacuees – from transportation to temporary accommodation in shelters or relocation to other regions.
Some mobility-impaired individuals are given priority for evacuation and further support in the new location.
'We will not only help to leave but also to settle in the new place,' said the head of the region, urging residents not to delay the decision on evacuation.
The airstrike on August 2 destroyed the bridge that connects Korabel with other parts of the city, threatening the disruption of communication.
The evacuation of residents from the Korabel microdistrict continues in Kherson after Russian airstrikes complicated the humanitarian situation.
